Thank You For A Fabulous 50-Day Season

In MLB FOLKLORE, the dreaded ASTERISK carries a negative connotation. But for ARA and 2020*...we intentionally place the asterisk to carry a POSITIVE connotation to make it STAND OUT. It stands out because of the dramatic series of events that transpired in our lives from March thru now and the committment of EVERY FAMILY in our organization to make this season a SAFE SUCCESS for the kids in our community. SAFE has been statistically verified - we officially concluded our rec season with a 0.00 ERA vs Covid.  The ARA Board would like to extend a THANK YOU to the following -

to our COACHES at every age division...this season could not have been possible without your committment to our newly established safety protocols in an untested and apprehensive environment -but you nailed it ! in game-winning walk-off grand slam fashion, you executed the safety plan while also teaching the game in a fun manner for the kids.

to the GREENBERG Family - for stepping up to be league safety ambassador and for all the signage at our fields in short turnaround time

to DAN CALLAGHAN - neighboring leagues are envious that we have an expert in virucide treatments and disinfectant chemicals

to our REC COORDINATORS - Ryan Verano, Leigh Anne Ihnken, Matt Hankins, Ben Yoder, Mike Mulllarkey, Jude Nascimento, Brad Michel, Mike Christian, John Haddle, and Dana McCarthy - you handled the "day-to-day" of our 50 day endeavor ...and the future of our organization is a bright one as a result

to our ARA GROUNDS CREW - at random hours and at a moments notice you mowed, raked, swept, and tarped our fields - we hear the Philadelphia Phillies are hiring ...

to Dave Bey tractor service, Bill Schroller our umpire assigner, Lower Providence Parks & Rec, Paragon & DiGinto Landscapers, and Brother's Inc - for helping out with our last-minute issues

to our graduating 12U NATIONAL LEAGUE and families, we know it wasn't exactly what everyone was expecting this season, but we hope we made the best flavored lemonade from the lemon we were about Dingers & Dogs part 2 next weekend ???

AND TO ALL OF OUR YOUNGER REC FAMILIES -- thank you for staying committed to ARA waaaay back in March.  You never bailed on us nor did we on you - we hope we see you again next season !

Congrats to our PLAYOFF WINNERS - Rookie League Knights w/ runner-up Grasshoppers...Minor League RailRiders w/ runner-up MuckDogs...American League Angels w/ runner-up Royals...and National League Cubs w/ runner-up Phillies...check out all the photos on Facebook & Instagram.

We can't sit back and think everything is roses, though...we do plan to offer baseball and softball programming in the early FALL (hopefully together with MBA)...look for more details in the coming weeks.  We realize, however, that everyone's thoughts are now focused on SCHOOL. No one has the CRYSTAL BALL regarding how COVID could impact our region with the return-to-school process...and particularly during the predicted tough LATE FALL and WINTER months we will once again need our families to be ALL-IN as we navigate indoor sports safety protocols.  We can share that ARA BASKETBALL league representatives have partnered with representatives from the Methacton Youth Wrestling and Methacton Aquatic Youth Swim organizations to engage in a unified dialogue with our schools pertaining to potential facility rentals and safety protocols.  We hope to begin to share those details later in September as more info becomes known.

Until then, enjoy what remains of the summer !
